I have a long track record living in the Charlotte area. I left Charlotte after graduating from Providence Day School in 2002 and attended Virginia Tech University in Blacksburg, VA. I attained a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and enjoyed taking Building Construction classes as electives during my time there. I also was very active with my crew team and really enjoyed rowing. I am looking to take it back up here in Charlotte with the Lake Wylie Crew team. Once I graduated I moved back to Charlotte and worked for an Engineering company up in the Lake Norman area. While revaluating my career opportunities I began studying real estate, and I am now a full time broker with Urban Realty, and loving it. I achieve a certain personal satisfaction by helping someone find the home of their dreams and furthermore I get excited for the challenge of selling a home.
My long ties to Charlotte date all the way back to both my parents. My mother, Dede Barr Dunst, attended Charlotte Country Day, along with her two brothers, years back. My grandparents, David and Nancy Townsend, are still members at the Charlotte Country Club and are very involved in the community with Charlotte Sister City Festival?s like the Beaujolais Nouveau, Wine Festival among other things. My father, Jim Barr, who is an original Charlottean, is now a contractor/developer right outside of Atlanta, Georgia. (www.FausetBluff.combeautiful new log home development)
My wife, Susan Day Barr, and I were married at Myers Park United Methodist back in June of 2008. Susan is also originally from Charlotte and attended Charlotte Latin with her older brother, Rick Day. We live just a few miles from the South Park area where Susan works, for AECOM, as an architect.
